Standing On Business

I've typed.

Untyped.

Retyped.

Deleted & walked away from this post so many times.

This one hits a little different for me right now. I've been trying for weeks to put these thoughts of mine into words, but honestly I have not found the right words to express how I've truly been feeling.

Life has a funny way of testing to see if we're really about the actions we say we are.

Last year taught me a lot, but this year is feeling as if it's the final exam. This year is testing me to see if I actually retained everything it previously taught me in those life lessons.

I created a space where I feel at peace. A space where the energy around me is safe & the

bodies that surround me are genuine. When you're at peace you glow differently. Your light shines brighter. Your energy is pure. But a bright light & pure energy can attract the most evil of spirits.

It's crazy how people feel so entitled to your life & to the space you've created. How easy it is for them to push their wants & true intentions onto you with no regard for you. Growing up, I was very much a people pleaser. I lived for the satisfaction of knowing that those around me were in approval of my actions. But then....I grew up. I started to age & mature & realized that this is my life. Nobody is living this life but me & nobody has to wake up everyday & walk around with the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the choices I make. That all falls on me.

I been having to stand on business lately.

I feel like people have been entering into my life left & right to test if I'm really willing to protect my boundaries. And if the bullshit I dealt with last year ain teach me nothing, it definitely taught me that boundaries are important.

Boundaries.

Let's talk about it.

Boundaries are extremely important. They are made by you to protect you from things, people, & situations that you know is not in your best interest. Life teaches us the boundaries we need. We go through lessons & come out on the other side knowing something about ourself that we didn't know before. We learn how to move in a way where we won't have to revisit that lesson again.

Enforcing the boundaries you're learned is the biggest way to keep people & energies that aren't truly for you, away. You know what you like. And you know what you don't like.

Stand on that shit.

You didn't go through the lessons you did just to end back at the beginning of the chapter. Stand on business & enforce the boundaries you've worked so hard to learn & create. Cause at the end of the day, nobody can protect you from what's not for you, but YOU. Trust your gut. Trust your instincts. And most importantly, trust those life lessons.
