Girl Ya Back Big

Why didn't anybody tell me that my back was getting big? I promise I wouldn't have gotten mad if you tapped me on the shoulder & said "hey girl, your back starting to get a lil big, let's hit the gym!"

But no seriously, life had started taking over & it got reeeeeeal easy to lose focus on myself. All the days started running together and while I was putting the pieces of myself together mentally & emotionally, I forgot about my physical being. I know it's cliche, but your body really is your temple & it's so important to take care of it.

I started my fitness journey years ago but never could stick with it. I call it a journey because that's truly what it is.... a journey. I feel like my previous efforts didn't stick because I was treating it like a temporary fix instead of looking at it as a lifestyle change. It took me really deepdiving into my own goals to realize that fitness is not a fad, it's a lifestyle. Your lifestyle. You can't look at what another person is doing and assume that it will work for you. That's the quickest way to get discouraged and fall off track. I had to take a long hard look at myself, my lifestyle, my goals, & what I was willing to do to get to those goals. People do things different ways & that's okay! Some people have extrme self control & can jump in the deep end & survive. Baby that is not me. I still like my 10pc hot lemon pepper wet all flats & I was NOT giving that up. While doing my deep dive I discovered the 80/20 method, which is pretty much 80% control 20% bullshit. Well not bullshit, but you know...well let me jut explain how I look at it. 80% of my time is structured. I go to the gym 5 days a week for 30 minutes.I follow a healthy balanced diet, I stay focused, I lock in! Now about this 20%. My 20% is dedicated to my brunch days, outings, that 10pc I oh so love, my rest days, days where I just want to live life on the edge a little bit. And guess what? That's okay!!!! It's all about balance. Balance is the key to keeping your journey flourishing. You are not going to be locked in everyday. Consistency is about showing up & giving your best every day no matter what that may look like. This is your journey & nobody else's. Only you know what your goals. are & what you are willing to do to achieve said goals. Don't lose track of that image.

With that being said, don't forget about YOU! All of you. The mental, the emotional, & the physical! You deserve to thrive in every aspect. Put yourself first sometimes. Because if your cup is empty you can't pour into another.
